Rahbar Exim Steels Pvt. Ltd . produces economical and

efficient steel and power through backward and forward

integration. It has mining capacity of over 20 MTPA of coal 

and iron ore at various locations within India and abroad. 

Owning captive mines has ensured the company of 

uninterrupted supply of high quality raw material. This has 

reduced the dependency on third party thereby resulting in 

cost and time saving. 

To mitigate the negative impact of mining on the environment 

the company has been carefully preparing its mining plans. Air 

and water quality, noise and other environmental parameters 

are monitored regularly and maintained well within 

permissible limits.CSR activities around mining areas are 

undertaken to address the socio-economic needs of the local 

communities.

The company operates captive coal mines at Dongamauha 

in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh through Open Cast 

working with excavator-dumper combination. The 

production capacity of these mines is 6 MTPA of raw coal 

of which 2 MTPA is of washed coal.

The mines have won the National Safety Award for four 

years in continuation. It is moving towards obtaining the 

IMS Certification which includes OHSAS - 18001:2007 to 

enhance the safety perspective beyond rules and 

regulations prescribed by DGMS and ISO 14001:2004 

(EMS - Environment Management System) and ISO 

50001:2011 (EnMS - Energy Management System) to 

enhance the safety, health and environmental aspects of 

the mine.

The fuel requirement for the company’s power plant is 

met through the coal produced at its open cast coal 

mines in Tamnar, Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh. The 

production capacity of the mine is 6.25 MTPA of raw 

coal. The mine operates through excavator-dumper 

combination with best of mining practices. A modern 

coal washery having 4.5 MTPA capacity is under 

operation.

 This ensures consistent good quality coal supply to 

power plant to help it maintain its high performance. 

Coal from the washery to the power plant is transported 

through a pipe conveyor belt of 7 km length. The 

conveyor is the second longest pipe conveyor in the 

world and the longest in India. It is an environment 

friendly, non-polluting safe and economical system for 

coal transport.
