sponge iron manufacturing facility at

Rahbar Exim Steels Pvt. Ltd . produces economical and

efficient steel and power through backward and forward

integration. It has mining capacity of over 20 MTPA of coal 

and iron ore at various locations within India and abroad. 

Owning captive mines has ensured the company of 

uninterrupted supply of high quality raw material. This has 

reduced the dependency on third party thereby resulting in 

cost and time saving. 

To mitigate the negative impact of mining on the environment 

the company has been carefully preparing its mining plans. Air 

and water quality, noise and other environmental parameters 

are monitored regularly and maintained well within 

permissible limits.CSR activities around mining areas are 

undertaken to address the socio-economic needs of the local 

communities.

The company operates captive coal mines at Dongamauha 

in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh through Open Cast 

working with excavator-dumper combination. The 

production capacity of these mines is 6 MTPA of raw coal 

of which 2 MTPA is of washed coal.

The mines have won the National Safety Award for four 

years in continuation. It is moving towards obtaining the 

IMS Certification which includes OHSAS - 18001:2007 to 

enhance the safety perspective beyond rules and 

regulations prescribed by DGMS and ISO 14001:2004 

(EMS - Environment Management System) and ISO 

50001:2011 (EnMS - Energy Management System) to 

enhance the safety, health and environmental aspects of 

the mine.

The fuel requirement for the company’s power plant is 

met through the coal produced at its open cast coal 

mines in Tamnar, Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh. The 

production capacity of the mine is 6.25 MTPA of raw 

coal. The mine operates through excavator-dumper 

combination with best of mining practices. A modern 

coal washery having 4.5 MTPA capacity is under 

operation.

 This ensures consistent good quality coal supply to 

power plant to help it maintain its high performance. 

Coal from the washery to the power plant is transported 

through a pipe conveyor belt of 7 km length. The 

conveyor is the second longest pipe conveyor in the 

world and the longest in India. It is an environment 

friendly, non-polluting safe and economical system for 

coal transport.

The Speedfloor is a lightweight suspended concrete floor

Speedfloor, the unique suspended concrete flooring system, is 

an innovation in the building industry. So quick and easy to 

install, it is a light weight, cost effective system that is perfect 

for multi-storey buildings and car parks. At the heart of the 

system is an especially roll-formed, galvanised steel joist that 

offers all the benefits of open–webbed truss system, easy 

enough to be man-handled into place, reducing carnage costs.

Rahbar Exim Speed Floor Product Specifications

Steel used for making joist is of grade 350 which has minimum 

yield strength of 350 mega pascal (MPa) and a minimum 

tensile stress of 380 MPa as well a minimum coating of 275 is 

maintained.

Generally, Speedfloor uses a 75 mm or 90 mm topping in 

comparison to the other conventional RCC flooring system.

Joists are available in five different depths as follows:

How does it work?

The joist is manufactured from pre-galvanised high tensile 

steel in a one pass roll former, where it is roll-formed, 

punched, pressed and slotted to a high degree of accuracy at a

joists are placed on the support medium where the Speedfloor 

shuttering system locks the joist into the exact position. The 

reinforcement is placed and the concrete floor is ready to pour. 

The Speedfloor composite floor system is suitable for use in all 

types of construction.

range to offer a complete product basket to the customer, 

Rahbar Exim Steels now also offers wire rods in 5.2 mm to 22 

mm diameters from its first unit at the proposed 6 MTPA 

capacity integrated steel plant at Patratu, Jharkhand.

The 0.6 MTPA capacity wire rod mill at Patratu is equipped

with latest technology from Morgan Construction Company, 

USA (now known as Siemens). This mill is operational with 

advanced rolling equipment such as reducing and sizing mill 

(RSM), high speed shear, pinch rolls and laying heads along 

with controlled temperature rolling and controlled cooling to 

meet the processing requirements of various grades of carbon 

and alloy steel. This results in improved mechanical properties 

due to finer and more uniform grain size suitable for rapid 

spheroidised annealing or high-yield strength with optimal 

scale weight and type.

The wire rods come with the promise of high quality and 

dimensional precision. The latest technology that comes with 

Morgan mill assures high degree of thermo mechanical 

properties along with unparalleled dimensional accuracy, 

providing consistency of mechanical properties within a coil 

and from coil to coil. Therefore, the wire rods are the material 

of choice among wire drawers across the country.

The mill is equipped with coil reforming technology which 

ensures that the coils are shipped with adequate care and reach 

customers with excellent coil stability without any damage.
